This $95 million LEED Gold renovation and expansion of an historic public high school Washington DC included 300,000 sf of renovated existing space and 75,000 sf of new. The campus was reorganized into three major venues - the Academic Building, Athletic Center, and Visual and Performing Arts Center - which can be independently operated for school and community use. I worked on all aspects of the project, from design through construction administration, but particularly enjoyed working directly with the contractors on issues that came up during construction.

This new $20 million, 27,000 sf arts facility at the St. Andrew’s School in Middletown, DE included a new performance hall, instrumental practice studios, visual arts studios, a dance studio, and faculty offices. As the project architect I worked on all aspects of the building, but focused on programming, the interior spaces, code issues, and construction administration.

Facilities, Grounds, and Housekeeping received a new home in this new 19,000 sf, $7M building. As the project architect, I worked on a number of schemes to get to the right fit, then coordinated with the three departments to ensure their needs were met. Working out the relationship of the exterior windows to the interior program was critical, as was getting the concrete of the base exactly right.
