Sarah Moody, R.A.
Sarah started her own practice in 2016 after having worked as an Associate for Richard Conway Meyer Architect in Philadelphia, for Cox Graae + Spack architects in Washington, DC., and as a freelancer in New York City. She received her BA in Studio Arts with a concentration in architecture from Wesleyan University, and her Master of Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania.
Sarah approaches each design with the client and the space as collaborators. She brings her interest in code and zoning issues, material and product research, and handling the whims of co-ops, condos, and the Department of Buildings to her projects. She thinks of each design as a partnership with the client and the contractor and considers a creative and trusting relationship between architect, owner, and builder to be essential to a successful project.
Her past work was mainly institutional, working on additions, renovations, and new buildings for clients like the St. Andrews School in Middletown, DE; Bryn Mawr College in Bryn Mawr, PA; and the District of Columbia Public Schools in Washington, DC. She found the transition to residential architecture surprisingly delightful and enjoys working directly with clients who are also the end user, which is a different and welcome challenge from working with committees.
Sarah is thrilled to have a project featured in New York Magazine’s Curbed.
